Kira
This is a feminine form of the Greek name Kyros, which means "lord, master." Kira Nerys (Nerys is her first name) is a freedom fighter on Bajor, and later a major in the Bajoran Militia. She becomes a strong supporter of the Federation and seeks to join Bajor to the Federation.
