Ruth
From the Old Testament, Ruth is a Moabite and wife of Mahlon and daughter-in-law of Naomi. Her husband and father-in-law die and she returns to Bethlehem with Naomi and marries Boaz. She eventually gives birth to Obed who is the grandfather of David. It is believed that Ruth comes from Hebrew and means "companion" or "friend."
